Can you hear my dreamy sighing? It's no secret that Sean's work is top of my reading list so I was very squealy and excited when he agreed to post a little something about himself. It's near on impossible to pick a favourite from Sean's back list, but I particularly love the Shibari Auction House series. The Chess books are fabulous and my latest love is his What's his Passion novel, Love Matters. But enough from me!

I Read, Therefore I Write

When people ask, I tell them I write because I have to, because it’s inside me and needs out. The characters live in my head and they don’t leave me alone until their story is told. And that’s the truth, but it’s not the whole truth.

The whole truth includes me wanting to be a writer because I read. I’ve read all my life – when I was too young to read myself, my parents read to me. Books have always been a big part of my life. And I wanted to be able to do that thing that authors did for me - to create new worlds, to birth characters that people cared about. I wanted to put words on paper and make people feel things, keep them glued to my words.

I love writing and I have to do it. But the act of writing isn’t complete until somebody has read my words.

So the corollary of I read, therefore I write, is you read, therefore I am a writer. And thank you for that.
